A Walk In Progress is a work-in-progress about the life of my late mother, Norma Markell Weinstein, who died in 2015 at the age of 90. The book spans from her birth in 1925 through significant historical events in the twentieth century and into the new millennium. The book is a photographic legacy that combines family photographs, visual memorabilia, archival material and text with my photographs from the last year of Norma’s life. Together, these elements weave a humorous yet poignant story of Norma’s immigrant parents, American Jewish experience, family, love life, and career. It is a life portrait of an ordinary, yet remarkable woman who lived life to the fullest.
